What causes teens to feel stressed?

You feel stressed because you are under pressure or anticipate a future event that you find threatening. Teens and children can be stressed by school, home situations, or taking on too many responsibilities.

Is stress bad for you?

Stress creates a surge in adrenaline, a hormone that prepares you to take action. Your heart beats faster, and you become more alert. This change in your body is important when dealing with threatening situations.

Everyone feels stressed at times. In the short term, stress is useful in getting you to take action. If you feel stressed most of the time, it is a well-being issue and can be detrimental to your health.

What can I do to reduce stress?

  1. Firstly, it is important to take time to relax mentally. Balance your thoughts.

  2. Take care of your responsibilities; do not put them off.

  3. Also, ask for help when you think you need it.

What is materialism?

Happiness is something that we all seek, and we seek it in different ways. When people turn to buying or getting things to make them happy, that is known as materialism. Young people often get caught up in materialism. They believe that external things such as fashion, video games, cell phones, and other latest popular thing makes them feel happy or make other people like them. They feel pressured to fit in.

Other reasons why young people may be materialistic include having materialistic older ones, including parents. Their parents may have given them the message that success is determined by the money or possessions one has. We live in a materialistic culture.

So, what is wrong with being materialistic?

The problem with materialism is that it never brings happiness. Instead, it will lead you to want more, leaving you with the feeling of dissatisfaction. You may be happy to get what you want, but that happiness will be short-lived. When your happiness goes, you will want something else. You find yourself in an endless pursuit of happiness. This can make teenagers feel stressed and act desperate while engaging in unwanted, destructive, or anti-social behaviors.

If materialism does not bring happiness, what does?

  • Take time to appreciate what you have in life. #GREAT

  • Developing connections with others.

  • Learning ways to become a better version of yourself.

Why do I get angry easily?

Anger is an emotion that everyone experiences. It is a response to a threat. However, some of us get angry more often than others. Young people can learn to react to anger in healthy and unhealthy ways. The feeling can arise due to physical discomforts, such as when you are feeling hungry, when you hurt yourself, or when you believe other people have done you wrong.

Is it bad to get angry?

No, anger is a normal emotion. And you are allowed to feel this emotion too. However, it is important to learn to control your emotions. Learning to control your anger will make you feel better about yourself, and you will get more enjoyment from life. Responding to anger in unhealthy ways is a well-known well-being issue.
